We are thrilled to announce Dario Anselmo as this years Keynote Speaker!
Like his unique brand of politics, Rep. Dario Anselmo’s path to political office doesn’t fit a typical mold. Tech startup founder, pilot for Tom Petty’s band, music club owner and community leader are just a few of the experiences that prepared Dario for his role as Edina’s representative in the Minnesota state legislature.

Hailing proudly from Duluth, Dario grew up in Minneapolis’ western suburbs and has called Edina home for 20 years now. After starting his first company in Edina at age 21, growing and selling it, Dario’s love of flying and music ultimately led him to another formative experience: owning the Fine Line Music Café in downtown Minneapolis. Through years of hard work, Dario transformed the Fine Line into a thriving business and cultural institution, hosting everyone from George Clinton to President Bill Clinton, including Sheryl Crow, Maroon 5, and Lady Gaga. Dario continues to be involved in commercial real estate ventures.

Alongside his business ventures, Dario has been an active community leader for decades, focused on education, mental health and a vibrant downtown. He’s served on the boards of the Edina Education Fund and Edina Give and Go; was president of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance for over 10 years; and a longtime board member of the Minnesota Mental Health Association. Dario co-founded the Warehouse District Business Association in Minneapolis and served on the Minneapolis Downtown Council for more than a decade.

Today, Dario is honored to represent the people and priorities of Edina in the Minnesota House of Representatives. In his first term, he served on two education committees and one focused on the environment. Dario’s proud to be putting his “purple” message into action in St. Paul – bringing red and blue together to focus on solutions for the people, not partisan politics. Committed to practicing the politics of inclusion and civility, Dario hopes to continue serving as a role model for how we can focus on what unites, rather than divides, us.

When he’s not representing Edina in St. Paul, Dario loves getting out to hear live music, reading about history, hitting the road on his bike, and skiing with his family.

No childcare provided!
