The 6th annual “Run with the Herd” 5K Run/Walk was scheduled for Thursday, August 20th for our usual dose of fun and sharing of critical information to raise awareness and help prevent suicide. But it the interest of safety and health of our supporters, we will raise money for this important cause by seeking direct donations to SAVE.
Suicide and mental health concerns are prevalent in our society, but the stigma around the issues keeps people from talking about it and seeking the help they need. When you break the stigma by sharing information and being open to conversations, it creates a ripple of awareness and education that is likely going to help someone you know and love. Things you can do to help:
Our fundraising goal is $5,106 this year. Why such an odd amount? If we are successful in reaching our goal this year, RWTH will have raised $100,000 for SAVE in our 6 years together! Please join us in hitting this amazing milestone!
Please consider a donation to SAVE this year. Next year, we plan to gather again for our 5K run/walk, followed by that fantastic Little Oven pizza and an ice-cold Summit beer. In the meantime, know that your donation is making a real difference at a time when people are challenged in unprecedented ways given what has transpired in our society in 2020. We miss you and love you…..thanks for your support!
As you know, this event was created out of love and memory of Tim Poferl. Tim was a son, brother, uncle, friend and runner. He embraced the Bison as his spirit animal, and we embraced the Bison as the symbol of Run with the Herd. Funds raised through our events are donated to SAVE, Suicide Awareness Voices of Education, a Bloomington, MN based organization that has an impact locally, nationally and internationally
