This event will be an event for the entire family whether it's fishing in the morning of June 23rd (click here to learn more and to register for the fishing contest) or joining the community at Lord Fletchers on June 23rd. This event is being created out of love and hope. The spirit of the event will be one of fun, music, food, family and friends. Funds raised from this event will be donated to SAVE, Suicide Awareness Voices of Education a Minnesota (Bloomington) based organization.
Additionally, we will be holding a separate raffle; tickets are limited and will be available the day of the event.
Depression is a treatable medical illness marked by changes in mood, thoughts, energy and behavior that affects more than 23 million adult Americans each year. It is the most common serious brain disease in the United States.
This event came about when a friend took his life. As a community we were touched by the number of people who lived through similar circumstances and came out to lend their support. It can be difficult to share loss of any kind; however, it is particularly challenging when suicide is a part of the story.
The goal of this event is to help relieve the unfortunate stigma that may attach itself to a suicide. By gathering together we can raise awareness.
Suicide touches each person in a different way: This event is meant to raise funds dedicated to suicide awareness education. All funds raised will go to SAVE. Their focus is on education, reducing the stigma and serving people touched by suicide.
